Frontside Spin
Frontside–
The opposite of backside, a direction
in which you spin on your snowboard.
Before
you go out and start trying to do spins it is important you
know which way you are spinning, Frontside or Backside.
Most people think
that spinning frontside is easier, are they right? Heck I
don’t know.
If your are goofy footed skip this
paragraph, it will only confuse you. Regular footed
people, listen up. When you spin frontside your are
spinning COUNTERCLOCKWISE. Look at the clock if you have to
but basically within the first 90 degrees of your spin your
body will be facing down the slope/tabletop/whatever and your
back will be facing where you just came from.

Goofy
footed people, your turn. Regular footers skip this
paragraph because it will confuse you and it is only fair.
So to spin frontside you will be spinning the same way a clock
spins, CLOCKWISE. Immediately after you are air borne and
have spun your first 90 degrees you should be facing the oncoming
slope/table top/whatever. Your back and butt should be facing
the jump/hit that you just came off of.
Although
it may be easier to start a frontside spin you have less time
to spot your landing then you do with a backside
spin so make sure you commit to it and get some decent
hang time.

Either way,
practice both ways on flat ground or off a step. You may look
dumb doing this but it will keep you from looking dumb falling
on your ass a million times (which is probably going to happen
anyway because learning to spin usually takes quite a few
falls and some time.)
